Services Performed
- – Slight seepage found at water pump.
- – Cooling fan switch was recently replaced, (By Us), A/C is not working. Both cooling fans work as they should when the engine reaches the fan switch temperature.
- – Power steering fluid is a bit low and dark but power steering is quiet after it ran for a little while. Topped up fluid level. Advise perform power steering fluid flush.
- Service air conditioner. Check condition of all belts and lines. Evacuate and recharge with R-134. Test system performance. **Was able to charge the system and add dye by jumping A/C and A/C fan relays. Further testing will be needed to determine the cause of no trigger to both relays.
- Noted low charge when testing A/C. Added dye/oil to system to check for leaks if the system has a low charge again. Includes labor to recheck for leaks.
- – Performed diagnostic tests and found fault in thermal limiter switch circuit. Replaced thermal switch, no change. Further testing determined a broken wire between thermal switch connector and main harness connector at firewall. Replaced wire from thermal switch connector to connector at firewall and verified proper operation. Noted when vehicle is outside in the hot weather and at a stand still, the A/C does not cool well, additionally the A/C pressures are dangerously high. Showered water on condenser at a stand still and A/C worked perfectly and pressures were normal, suspect aftermarket condenser and/or cooling fans are not efficient enough, advise replace as needed.
